319 infrastructure projects were completed in Malta in the last year.<\/span><\/span> This was announced by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, Chris Bonett, where he listed a number of works that were carried out with an investment of more than \u20ac50 million and which together cover more than 360,000 square metres of roads, equivalent to more than 50 football pitches.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

These projects included maintenance work, road reconstruction, improvements in services as well as improvements in access to rural areas.<\/span><\/span> Minister Bonett said that the infrastructure and roads of our country are an important subject because everyone uses them to move from one place to another.<\/span><\/span> He said that this work in the last year has brought tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Minister Bonett explained, \u201cOver the past year, there has been an improvement in communication with the public because we understand that certain projects can lead to some level of inconvenience, however, as we are seeing at Msida Creek, through clear communication together with a lot of preparatory work, this can be greatly reduced to the benefit of everyone.\u201d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

He also announced that an agreement had been signed for road sign painting works to begin during off-peak hours, another measure implemented by the \u2018Reshaping our Mobility\u2019 plan with the aim of improving the use of the current infrastructure.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Infrastructure Malta\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Ellul thanked all those who contributed to achieving these goals, in particular the employees of Infrastructure Malta, Transport Malta, Enemalta and the Local Councils.<\/span><\/span> \u201cWe will continue to move forward with full respect for the communities and we work among them every day to improve the infrastructure of our country,\u201d concluded Steve Ellul.<\/span><\/span> This work complements other projects that have been launched and are currently underway.<\/span><\/span> Among these are the Vjal Kul\u1e63ad projects which form part of a wider plan to make roads a safe, accessible and useful space for everyone, whether they are drivers, pedestrians or cyclists.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
