\u00a0At the Armed Forces of Malta Barracks in Luqa, on Monday evening the best pay agreement for soldiers of the Armed Forces of Malta was signed where the salary fund will now reach an investment of \u20ac68 million.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement signed with the representatives of these workers, the General Workers\u2019 Union.<\/span><\/span> The agreement will again provide strong increases and improve the conditions of around 1,800 officers.<\/span><\/span> In a beautiful occasion at the Luqa Barracks before the signing of the agreement, Prime Minister Robert Abela interpreted the sealing of this agreement as another investment in a category of workers.<\/span><\/span> A category of workers from the Public Administration who also benefited from the Public Administration collective agreement signed towards the end of last year.<\/span><\/span> Prime Minister Robert Abela explained how from the beginning of last month until the end of this month, the Government will have signed no less than 11 agreements whereby it will provide increases and improvements in the working conditions of 1,100 Public Administration workers.<\/span><\/span> \u201cWe are not making each agreement for a long period of years or letting it expire and never signing another one. In fact, five years after five years, workers are seeing improvements in conditions and significant increases,\u201d said Dr Abela, who pointed out how this is not done only because the Government has the desire to do this but because it is financially sound, stable and able to distribute wealth and invest in its workers.<\/span><\/span> Prime Minister Robert Abela stated that the Government\u2019s economic direction is with an emphasis on quality.<\/span><\/span> He said that the quality of life of everyone is what the Malta 2050 Vision talks about, where workers and families continue to be at the centre of everything we do so that our country continues to move forward.<\/span><\/span> He said that therefore we cannot fail to invest in those who, when the country calls them, are always there, such as the officers of the Armed Forces of Malta, for whom a strong investment has also been made in the resources they use.<\/span><\/span> The Prime Minister stressed that the country is grateful to the soldiers and encouraged them to continue working for Malta.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
