The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri together with the Mayor of Nadur and Councillors announced that the Nadur Agricultural and Handicraft Exhibition, an annual event that has been keeping Gozitan rural tradition and culture alive for over three decades, will be held again. This year the exhibition will be held on Saturday 21 June from 8pm onwards and Sunday 22 June from 8am to 12pm.<\/p>\n

Minister Clint Camilleri stated that: \u201cThe Nadur Agricultural and Crafts Exhibition is a living testament to our roots in agriculture and the rich cultural heritage of Gozo. This exhibition is not only an opportunity to showcase the work and passion of our local producers and artisans, but also to continue to pass on our valuable traditions to future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Agricultural and Handicraft Exhibition, held during the popular Imnarja festival, attracts thousands of visitors each year to Nadur, a village known for its strong connection to the land and agriculture, as well as for its abundant citrus. This year’s exhibition will welcome more than 200 exhibitors from various areas of rural and traditional life. The programme includes a wide range of exhibitions exploring agriculture and apiculture (honey production), as well as other products related to local agricultural production. There will also be an extensive section dedicated to crafts and handicrafts, where visitors can discover handmade products and local art.<\/p>\n

Mayor of Nadur Edward Said said that “The Agricultural and Handicraft Exhibition has become synonymous with the time of the Imnarja in Nadur, and gives space to farmers, villagers, artists and those who are enthusiasts of handicrafts and trades to exhibit their products. An event that complements the rurality of the village of Nadur.”<\/p>\n

The exhibition also pays tribute to Gozitan traditions and culture through exhibitions of ancient tools and traditional working methods. Although there will be no livestock and poultry this year due to disease restrictions, organisers have announced an extension of other animal exhibitions, including exhibitions of rabbits and domestic animals such as dogs, horses, donkeys, and ponies. The traditional animal blessing ceremony will also take place on Sunday morning, an event that brings together children and families.<\/p>\n

Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by inviting all families to visit the Nadur Agricultural and Handicraft Exhibition which offers a unique opportunity to experience Gozitan rural life first-hand. This is an activity for the whole family, combining knowledge, entertainment, and culture, while supporting local producers and artisans and celebrating Gozitan heritage.<\/p>\n
