Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett has announced a new project at the heart of the Paola community. Paul Boffa Garden will be regenerated with a strong emphasis on creating a safer, more inclusive and accessible space for children and families. This garden will not only continue to serve as a major recreational space but will also offer opportunities for outdoor learning, especially given its proximity to the local primary school.<\/p>\n

Minister Chris Bonett said that, \u201cThe Government\u2019s vision for open spaces is clear as this project is one of a series being carried out across Malta to identify and regenerate gardens and public spaces\u201d. He explained how this project complements infrastructural work on the roads in the area which will also improve accessibility and safety in the locality.<\/p>\n

“In the coming time, the Paola community will enjoy a much more beautiful space than the current one, a children’s area with modern games as well as a dignified environment around the local council office”, concluded Minister Bonett.<\/p>\n

Steve Ellul, the Chief Executive Officer of Infrastructure Malta stressed that, \u201cThis project highlights Infrastructure Malta’s commitment to developing safe and green public spaces that encourage outdoor activity in a beautiful environment\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mayor, Jason Silvio, thanked the Government and reiterated the importance of projects such as these in the heart of the locality. Projects that reflect the needs of residents and that give new life and a suitable environment for families to enjoy.<\/p>\n

One of the main features of the project is the transformation of the play area where modern and safe equipment will be installed on a soft and protective surface, together with a structure surrounding this area to create safe conditions. The design incorporates an emphasis on making the place accessible to all.<\/p>\n

Work is due to begin in the coming months and is expected to be completed in 2026.<\/p>\n
