During a visit to four small and medium-sized enterprises in the Mosta Technopark where he met with many workers, Prime Minister Robert Abela described the Government’s work in favour of job creators and workers as important in order to translate into benefits for all.<\/p>\n
Accompanied by the Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri and the CEO of INDIS Malta Jean Pierre Attard, the Prime Minister began his visit to the company Memo International, specialized in electronic security systems for the jewellery industry, where he met with workers and management. He continued with visits to Microtek Medical Malta, a company with international recognition in the manufacturing of medical products. The third visit was to MostaTech, a local company that manufactures precision sensors for the aviation sector. The last visit was to the internationally renowned local company Stargate Studios, a studio known for its work on international productions such as The Walking Dead and Black Mirror.<\/p>\n
In each visit, the Prime Minister noted with satisfaction the commitment of these SMEs to create quality jobs and continue to strengthen the Maltese economy. In this context, he pointed out the Government’s continued support for private enterprise through measures such as SME aid schemes and investments in industrial infrastructure. This while workers are benefiting from the largest tax reduction in history.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister also praised the efforts of companies to maintain a high level of innovation and investment in research, as well as their commitment to quality jobs and the export of Maltese products and services around the world. He said that in the face of digital and environmental challenges with strategic goals also as part of the Malta 2050 Vision, these changes will occur with the strengthening of incentive policies. This is to continue to push towards innovation and quality growth among small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the backbone of the Maltese economy.<\/p>\n
“As we celebrate the worker this week, we recall the Government’s commitment to continue to pursue policies in favour of employment and quality economic growth. This is in addition to working towards a fairer society that gives everyone the chance to succeed”, concluded Prime Minister Robert Abela.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister concluded his visit with a meeting with the staff and management of INDIS Malta at their offices in Mosta Technopark. Here he noted the importance of INDIS Malta in helping businesses grow and translating trust in our country into economic prosperity that benefits the Maltese and Gozitan countries and families.<\/p>\n
Minister Silvio Schembri stated, “The four companies we visited today are testament to a diversified and innovative economy. Although a small country without natural resources, we have a great resource, the human resource, the workers. We saw workers at various levels working on innovative products. And because we believe in this great potential that our country has, we worked on a vision that will lead our country for the next 25 years. A vision based on the basic principle of having a healthy quality of life”.<\/p>\n
