At least 15 people have died as storms caused massive flooding in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Another six people are still missing. Three villages in the north-east of the country were cut off due to landslides. Forecasters are predicting more rain for later on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man is in a critical condition after a head-on crash with a car in Triq il-Marfa, Mellieħa at around 10pm on Friday night. The injured man, from Zurrieq, was riding a bike and is believed to have been on his way to Gozo. The driver of the car, a woman from Mosta, was not injured in the accident.      
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat pays tribute to former Prime Minister Dom Mintoff on the centenary anniversary of his birthday. The former leader of the Malta Labour Party, who served two terms as Prime Minister (1955-58; 1971-84) also held a seat in parliament uninterruptedly from 1947 to 1998.
Malta Football Association President Norman Darmanin Demajo proposed an amnesty for all players and officials with suspensions pending, effective from August 4th 2016. The proposal was approved during an MFA Council meeting but the amnesty does not extend to anyone facing doping, corruption, bribery or removal from the MFA.
