Malta made it two wins in a row with a 2-0 victory in their friendly international against Liechtenstein on Sunday.
There was a nervous early moment for Malta when Liechtenstein were awarded a penalty after twelve minutes but Nicolas Hasler’s spot kick flew wide of the post.
Malta regained their composure and minutes later Juan Corbalan tried to lob the keeper but was just inches short of finding the net.
Hosts Malta eventually found the opening the the Liechtenstein defence, when Paiber picked out Jake Grech, who fired into the back of the net. Malta with a deserved 1-0 lead at the break.
Andrea Zammit, who came on after the break, had an early sight of goal on the hour mark, a sign of what was to come. Minutes later he worked his way past defenders to score his first international goal for Malta.
A comfortable 2-0 win for Malta and a confidence boost ahead of their upcoming UEFA Nations League match against Gibraltar on Thursday.
