Corradino prisoner admitted to hospital with tuberculosis

On Sunday 16th March, a prisoner from the Corradino Correctional Facility was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment after developing some symptoms which were confirmed on 18th March as Tuberculosis.

When this prisoner entered the CCF, he undergone all the required medical tests.

While the majority of people in Malta are vaccinated against Tuberculosis, the Correctional Services Agency has taken and is taking all precautions. In fact, a three-week contact tracing was carried out and medical tests were carried out on 82 people, both those serving a sentence and staff, all of whom came back negative.
