Renovation project completed at the KOLS Cooperative

Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela visits KOLS
Minister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela visited the KOLS Cooperative where a renovation project was completed at the Government Healthcare Laundry with an investment of approximately €1 million.
During this visit, it was explained how, through this investment, improvements have been made in the Cooperative’s operations and at the same time, European Union standards such as ‘Risk Assessment and Bacteriological Control’ are being maintained, as well as EU regulations governing ‘Healthcare Laundries’ are being met.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela explained how the work of this cooperative is important as it takes care of the laundry of all government hospitals and clinics in our country. He explained that through this project and investment in modern machinery, they are leading to a more efficient service and at the same time they are also reducing their carbon footprint as operations are now more energy efficient. “Over the years, this cooperative has continued to improve the quality of its service and operations in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs related to operations. We are committed to continuing to implement projects such as these that lead to a more efficient and quality service,” concluded Minister Abela.
