Passengers escape plane after emergency landing in Malta

Malta International Airport

A major police and Armed Forces search is underway after four passengers jumped from an aero-plane that had just made an emergency landing at Malta International Airport on New Year’s Day.

Two of the men were quickly detained while the others are still at large.

The Turkish Airlines flight heading to Morocco requested permission to land in Malta as a passenger was feeling unwell. The four men fled from the plane as cabin staff were preparing to offload the sick passenger. That passenger was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he is reported to be under arrest.
