Prime Minister Robert Abela pays a visit to the Mount Carmel hospital’s staff and patients.

During their visit to the Monte Karmeli hospital, Prime Minister Robert Abela and Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela interacted with the staff and patients. According to Prime Minister Robert Abela, we want to convey through these celebrations that everyone is a part of a society that values and considers everyone, and that nobody is left isolated.

The Prime Minister addressed the staff and expressed gratitude for their hard work and service to patients who deserve the greatest care in a dignified manner.

Dr. Abela noted that by providing better treatment in a more pleasant setting, patients can anticipate the day when they can live a more independent life with expert assistance. The Prime Minister added that community mental health services, provided in partnership with local councils, will continue to be strengthened with the investment made in the upcoming year’s budget. We need to keep eradicating the stigma associated with mental health, he said.

In order to continue preparing patients with mental health issues for life in the community, Prime Minister Robert Abela emphasized the significance of enhancing the hospital environment. He mentionedthe work being done at Dar Sebh Đdid, a halfway home that aids in the reintegration of patients who have had treatment at the Mount Carmelvhospital. In closing, the prime minister wished the patients, staff, and professionals a happy new year.
