Saudi Arabia to host World Cup 2034

The 2034 men’s football World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia world governing body Fifa has confirmed.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will be joint hosts for the 2030 tournament.

The announcement by FIFA chief Gianni Infantino was not welcomed by everyone. Amnesty International condemned the decision citing Saudi Arabia’s poor human rights record.

A number of countries, although supporting the choice, voiced concerns over human rights. The English FA also approved of Saudi Arabia as host of 2034 World Cup, saying it had received assurances that all fans would be welcome.
