A new digitization project by the Housing Authority

The Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes announced a new digitization project that the Housing Authority is carrying out.

The Minister explained that this project is leading to a significant change in the operation of the Authority, a change which, while continuing to reduce bureaucracy, is also leading to more efficient results when it comes to processing schemes.

“Today we are seeing the results of this digitization project in practice. As one can imagine the process is not an easy process or accomplished in a few days. But committed to carry it out to continue making a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries. This exercise is also facilitating the work of the Authority’s workers to help them cope with the demand for the Housing Authority’s schemes,” stated the Minister.

The first scheme that the Housing Authority worked on in order to be fully digitized was the Rent Benefit, where the beneficiaries are receiving the subsidy in a more facilitated way. The Minister spoke about how all this is having a direct impact on the 2,900 families that are currently benefiting from the rent subsidy. “Thanks to this project we are continuing to improve the lives of so many beneficiaries,” said the Minister.

“This is the way forward that the Housing Authority will be taking. We look forward so that more schemes offered by the Authority are digitized and we continue to reach more beneficiaries in the shortest possible time,” concluded the Minister.

The CEO of the Housing Authority, Matthew Zerafa explained that “just as technology has transformed everyday life, both on an individual and organizational level, the Housing Authority is taking advantage of the opportunities that technology brings with it in order to offer a more transparent and efficient service. Apart from that, it is also improving its communication and the experience of its beneficiaries.”
