Art in the Park: A unique collective exhibition on the Inwadar National Park

Minister for the Environment Miriam Dalli

For the third consecutive year, 15 local artists, including some of the most prominent names in the Maltese art scene, are presenting unique artistic works at the Rudy Buhler Art Gallery, located on Triq is-Salini, Marsaskala.

Minister for the Environment Miriam Dalli, Dr Steve Borg, chairperson of the Inwadar Park Governance Board, and Project Green CEO Joseph Cuschieri visited the exhibition, which is open to the public until Sunday, December 1, 2024.

“The Art in the Park exhibition is a testament to how art can connect us with nature and help us appreciate the beauty of our environment. The Inwadar National Park is a clear example of how neglected areas can be transformed into spaces of recreation and inspiration for the entire community,” stated Minister Dalli.

The collective art exhibition features 27 artistic works. This year’s theme, ‘The Park and the People’, combines art with the history of the Inwadar National Park; an area once plagued by illegal dumping but now revitalized into a space of life, relaxation, and activity in an open setting. The works reflect the artists’ creativity, uniquely showcasing the harmony between people and nature in this extraordinary location.

The list of participating artists includes renowned names such as Agius Alison, Ancilleri Frank, Bonnici Kurt, Borg Marika, Calleja Sarah, Camilleri Silvana, Fenech Josette, Fenech Portelli Joanne, Frendo Jean, Mercieca Audrey, Pavia Lawrence, Perini Ethelbert, Smith Andrew, Vella Anthony and Vella Tanya. Each artist has provided a distinctive artistic interpretation of the beauty and history of the Inwadar Park.

The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free, allowing everyone to enjoy the art and inspiration of this unique exhibition. All artworks are available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to a philanthropic organisation; an initiative that gives back to the community.
