Another very successful President’s Walk in aid of Community Chest Fund

Hundreds of people joined the President of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono, the Prime Minister Robert Abela and the Leader of the Opposition Bernard Grech, for this year’s edition of the Walk with the President, with in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
All wearing shirts from this year’s edition, those who attended walked from the Palace of Sant’Anton to St. George Square in a wave of solidarity and generosity with those in need. In a speech at the end of the walk, the President of Malta addressed those present, appealed to them in their daily life to maintain the unity between them that they showed with this gesture, and praised them for the sense of help with the neighbor that distinguishes the Maltese.
The President of Malta also reminded that this activity is one of a series of other activities, which take place throughout the year, with the aim that the Malta Community Chest Fund continues to help everyone who turns to it for help. She mentioned that the MCCF helps not only those in need of oncological care, but a wide range of other social needs. That is why she appealed to the public to be generous this year too, like every other year, in Istrina.
In addition to public donations, at the end of the walk, Prime Minister Robert Abela presented a donation of €20,000 from the Just Causes Fund, to the Malta Community Chest Fund. This year’s Walk with the President was also possible with the help of SportMalta, Enemed, the Fund for Just Causes, BOV, Eurosport Malta, Visit Malta, BNF Bank plc, MAPFRE, Maypole, Leapmotor Malta , KPMG, Powerade, The Point, Falcotrans Ltd, The Convenience Shop, Algida Malta, Paradise Bay Resort, the Association of Local Councils, Magic Malta 91.7 and Ponder & Pitch.
The Walk with the President was also madewith the assistance of several entities, including the Police Force, the Armed Forces of Malta, the Department of Civil Protection, officials of the Correctional Services Agency, Transport Malta and LESA, as well as Malta Red Cross volunteers, who accompanied the participants during the walk.
