US Presidential election: Six days remain

Kamala Harris v Donald Trump

The clock is ticking as America holds its breath for the November 5th Presidential election.

Former president Donald Trump and current Vice-President Kamala Harris are locked in one of the tightest races to the Oval Office in decades.

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, carries a lot of excess baggage, much of it unwanted. He claimed and still maintains that the 2020 election was stolen, that he in fact won the election but the votes were rigged to give victory to the Democrats and Joe Biden.

January 6 is a dark day in the history of the United States. That day Donald Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building in Washington in an attempt to block the counting of Electoral Collage votes. That assault cost the lives of six people.

Donald Trump is now a convicted felon, having been found guilty of falsifying business records in a payment to a former porn star. He has a further four charges against him pending.

Kamala Harris has served as Vice-President to Joe Biden since 2020. A staunch Democrat, she was catapulted into the spotlight when Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race just a few months ago. He named Kamala Harris as the best person to replace him. At that time, Joe Biden was trailing Donald Trump in polls. Kamala Harris had to get up to speed and get America on her side. She has worked tirelessly since July and now the polls show Harris and Trump virtually neck and neck.

With a week to go, the election is too tight to call. It could go either way.

Mud slinging, name calling, false claims. The US election has these in bucket loads. The question is which way will the voters go.

A second term for the man who refused to accept he lost the 2020 election.

Or will America elect its first Woman President?

The answer will be revealed on November 5th. Maybe.
