Budget 2025: Personal and family benefits increase

Sickness Assistance: will increase by €416 per year.

Allowance for families with children who have physical or mental disabilities will increase by €5 per week.

Disability and Carers assistance to increase.

Assistance programmes: asset limit for married couples or partners will rise from €23,300 to €26,000, and for single individuals, from €14,000 to €16,000.

The right to paternity leave is being extended to self-employed fathers, allowing them, like employed fathers, to take 10 days paid paternity leave.

Marriage Grant will be increased by almost €170 to €500 per person.

Childrence allowance will increase by €250 for each child. 

Pensions up be €8 per week.

Income Tax allowances: €140 million in people’s pockets.

COLA increase: The COLA will rise by €5.24 a week in 2025
