As Tom Tugendhat was knocked out of the Tory leadership race, former Foreign Minister James Clevery emerged as the front runner among the three remaining candidates.
In today’s vote, Clevery got 39 votes, Robert Jennick 31 and Kemi Badenoch 30.
Tugendhat picked up 20 votes, meaning he was eliminated. The question now is where those 20 votes will now go. With another round of voting on Wednesday, they may well decide who becomes the new leader of the Conservative Party.
