Around 150 families benefit from a regeneration project in Hamrun

The Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes inaugurated a regeneration project that took place in 23 social housing blocks in Hamrun.
This regeneration project was carried out with an investment of over one million euros and consisted, among others, in the beautification of the facades of the social housing blocks, in the beautification of the common areas and roof renovation. Minister Galdes explained that the regeneration work that was carried out on 23 blocks, around 150 families benefited from it.
“The work we have carried out has not only given a new look to this area, but also continues to raise the quality of life of the residents,” claimed the Minister.
Minister Galdes spoke on the importance that apart from the investment in new social and affordable housing units, investment continues to be made to conserve the present assets, in order to ensure that they continue to offer a safe and dignified roof to the beneficiaries.
“This regeneration work looks not only at the present needs but also the future ones, both of the beneficiaries and of the social housing sector,” the Minister went on to explain. During the visit, the Minister was able to note the extensive work done on these blocks, which not only gave a new look to the field of social housing in Hamrun, but also made a difference in everyday life. of more than 150 families, who are directly benefiting from this regeneration project.
