Dr. Lydia Abela will be naming the beloved young man Jake Vellafor the Republic Honour as a national recognition for the positive impact he left on Maltese society with his courage and energy.
Lydia Abela announced this news at the residence of Jake in Birżebbuġa and after speaking with his parents. Jake Vella served as an inspiration for an entire country. Dr. Abela described Jake as an extraordinary altruist who, despite the personal challenges he faced, always saw how to make others happy, especially those who don’t have a voice. It spread love and brought people together.
“Jake is considered a hero. He lived through suffering, but he had a passion for life. He is an example for all of us of how you should never give up,” said the Prime Minister’s wife. Dr. Abela concluded by saying that this intelligent young man won the hearts of Maltese and Gowis with his unique smile and eyes that light up with joy, and therefore there is no doubt that the people are united behind this nomination for recognition of Republic Tribute.
Jake’s parents welcomed this news with emotion and thanked the Prime Minister’s wife for this gesture. They also expressed their appreciation for the way hundreds of people are choosing to witness the positive influence that Jake left in their lives.
