At least 26 people were killed and thousands more injured, many seriously, after communication devices, some used by the armed group Hezbollah, exploded across Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sky News reports that as many as 3,000 casualties were treated at hospitals.

The explosions happened close to a large crowd that had gathered for the funerals of four victims of Tuesday’s blasts when hundreds of pagers used by Hezbollah exploded. Two children were reported to have died in those explosions.
