The Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes visited the works that are currently underway on the largest social housing project, among the number of social housing projects that are currently being worked on in our country.
This project is being carried out in the area of Ħal Farruġ, within the limits of Ħal Luqa, in a site of approximately 10,000 square meters. With a substantial investment of around €40 million, this project is expected to include around 267 social housing apartments, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom apartments, as well as garages and spaces for cars that amount to around 300. Included in the project we find apartments that meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Minister Roderick Galdes visited the intensive work that is currently underway on the three blocks of this building and explained that this work will make a difference in the lives of many families. The minister stated that through this social project, not only will the social housing waiting list continue to be addressed, but we will also continue to support families that need state aid and we ensure that we not only provide a dignified roof, but also a residence that continues to raise the quality of life of our families.
He also claimed that he is convinced that this project will leave an important mark in the field of social housing from which a substantial number of families will benefit.
