A number of children who attend SkolaSajf, had the opportunity to better understand the importance of the responsible use of money. This was done through practical learning by teachers and professionals in the financial sector, and the climax was reached through a competition held between several groups of children, aged between 7 and 11 years.
The project was run by ΒEMMA in collaboration with the Educational Services Foundation and SkolaSajf.
At the end of this week, two groups of children were awarded a prize, after winning two competitions respectively. A group of them decorated a tree with words related to financial literacy. This theme was discussed during the sessions in the classroom, with the various thoughts of the children forming the framework of these financial projects. The second group of children who won this competition created a logo for this year’s GEMMA competition, creatively and in a team spirit.
The Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights, Michael Falzon, claimed that the branch within the Ministry, GEMMA, will continue to expand its outreach , to reach both children, teenagers, adults and even pensioners.
“I take this opportunity to congratulate the winning teams of this competition, who through their creativity created this final result. Let’s continue to invest in today’s generation and promote a wise culture and planning in order to really build healthy children who know how to make good decisions from a young age,” concluded Minister Michael Falzon.
