Mater Dei Hospital to launch inquiry into death of man waiting at Emergency Department

Mater Dei Hospital will launch an internal inquiry into the death of a man, who died at the Emergency Department while waiting to be seen the Ministry for Health and Active Aging announced.

The 55-year-old man went to the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital complaining of chest pain.

The Board that will lead the independent inquiry will be made up of the retired Judge Dr. J.D. Camilleri as chairperson and the members Dr Herbert Felice and Sa Sylvia Spiteri. The conclusions of this inquiry are expected by the end of September at the latest. The ministry is committed to dealing with this case with complete transparency in a spirit of good governance.
