Ukraine forces advance in Russia as Putin vows to “kick the enemy out”

As Ukranian forces took control of villages inside Southern Russia’s Kursk region in a surprise move, Russia’s President Vladimar Putin has vowed to “kick the enemy out”.

Ukrainian military chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said on Monday that some 386 square miles (1,000 square kilometers) of Russian territory were now under Ukrainian control.

Around 200,000 Russian people have been evacuated from their homes around the border areas as a precaution
