Summer Cup: Hamrun through to final after penalty shoot-out

Hamrun Spartans reached the final of the Summer Cup being organised by the Malta FA after defeating Marsaxlokk on penalties at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.

Nikola Raden put Marsaxlokk ahead after just three minutes but Luke Montebello converted a penalty to restore equilibrium on the 62nd.

In the penalty shoot-out, Joseph Mbong, Luke Montebello, Talison and Wendel Barros scored for Hamrun with Vitao missing his attempt. On the other hand, Yuri Messias, Nikola Raden and Nikolai Muscat scored for Marsaxlokk with Leandro Aguirre and Alex Tanque had their attempts parried by Celio.

IZIBET FA Trophy winners Sliema Wanderers FC take on Floriana FC in the second semi-final on Wednesday at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 19:30. The final is scheduled at the Saturday at the National Stadium.
