Malta International Food Festival Returns with the Biggest Edition Ever

The Malta Tourism Authority proudly supports the return of the Malta International
Food Festival, set to be the biggest edition ever. Taking place at the Granaries in
Floriana from the 7th to the 11th of August, this five-day festival promises an
unforgettable celebration of global cuisines, attracting thousands of locals and
tourists alike.

This year’s festival will feature over 1000 different food items from 40 countries,
offering attendees a unique opportunity to interact, share their passions, and savour
freshly prepared dishes from around the world. “The Malta International Food
Festival has firmly established itself as one of Malta’s leading family festivals”, said
Jonathan Pace. “We are thrilled to see it grow each year, and this edition will be
our grandest yet, showcasing the rich diversity of global culinary traditions”.

The festival will provide an exceptional platform for chefs, food importers, and
producers to exhibit their finest creations. In addition to the culinary delights, freshly
prepared desserts and drinks will help beat the summer heat, and a new Chillout
area featuring Malta’s finest DJs will enhance the evening vibe. Attendees can also
explore a variety of craft beers in the Craft Beer Garden.

A daily healthy food area will host engaging discussions and talks by local and
international professionals, promoting healthy living and raising awareness about
food intolerances. Live performances by Malta’s finest artists and international acts
from the United Kingdom will entertain patrons throughout the festival.

“We are excited to support this event that brings together diverse cultures and
culinary traditions”, said Gavin Gulia, Chairman of MTA. “The Malta International
Food Festival not only celebrates food but also fosters community spirit and cultural
exchange. It is a shining example of the diverse types of events held in Malta during
the summer, showcasing our vibrant cultural scene and enhancing the overall visitor
experience”.

A second stage has been introduced for the International Culture Program, allowing
attendees to immerse themselves in the vibrant cultures of expat communities
through performances and shows. An extended children’s area with special activities
and games will ensure fun for the whole family. Maltese craftsmen and artisans will
also have their own stands throughout the venue.

An improved payment system will be implemented to reduce queues and increase
efficiency. Attendees can choose between a disposable top-up card or pay-as-you-
go using a credit card.
As part of a corporate social responsibility initiative, the organizers have teamed up
with Missio Malta to deliver a live concert by popular local performers such as Kantera and Kurt Calleja over the last three days of the festival.
