Edward Scicluna will be removed from the Malta Finance Services Authority board, Prime Minster Robert Abela announced on Thursday during an interview with Newsbook’s chief editor Matthew Xuereb.
“A decision had to be taken and it was taken today. A notice will be issued in the Government Gazette tomorrow,” Abela told interviewer Matthew Xuereb at a Labour Party activity.
Earlier this week, a court found that there is enough evidence for Scicluna and 13 other accused to stand trial over the Vitals hospital affair.
Edward Scicluna maintains however that he will remain in his post as Governor of the Central Bank.
