Floriana through to UEFA Conference League second qualifying round following draw in San Marino

Floriana qualified for a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League following a 1-1 draw with SP Tre Penne of San Marino in the second leg of the first qualifying round at the San Marino Stadium on Thursday.

The Greens, therefore, qualify with a 4-2 aggregate score to set up a clash with Portuguese side Vitória SC, better known as Vitória de Guimarães.

Following a goalless first half, Tre Penne forged ahead on the hour when off an assist by Nigretti, Guidi’s curved shot was cleared off the goal line by Alejandro Garzia but Benjamin Boccioletti placed the ball at the back of the net off the rebound.

The Sammarinese side pushed hard for a second goal which would have forced extra-time but in added time, Jake Grech notched the equaliser off an assist by Kemar Reid.
