The Opera in the Capital concert returns in August

The popular Opera in the Capital concert will return to St George Square in Valletta on August 30, at 9pm. The tenors Alan Sciberras, Cliff Zammit Stevens and the soprano Nadia Vella are the soloists for this event and they will be accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the musical direction of Maestro Michael Laus.

The Minister for National Heritage, Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici stated that Opera in the Capital celebrates both the art of music and the unique cultural heritage of Valletta. “This event will offer a wonderful evening of operatic excerpts, against the backdrop of Valletta’s historic architecture,” repeated Minister Bonnici.

The Chairman of the Cultural Agency for Valletta Jason Micallef said that “This year’s edition of Opera in the Capital sees the soprano Nadia Vella join the tenors Alan Sciberras and Cliff Zammit Stevens in an event another high quality one from the Cultural Agency for Valletta. After the success of the Valletta Pageant of the Seas in June, we are presenting another great outdoor event while celebrating the beauty of the capital city.”
