Next year Malta will be hosting the Third Symposium of the World Health Organization (WHO) on digital health systems. This was agreed during meetings in Denmark between the Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela and the WHO Regional Director, Dr. Hans Kluge and the Directors of the WHO Executive Council.
Towards the last quarter of next year, Malta will host this Symposium for the WHO European Region. Among others, this meeting will bring together clinical professionals, policy makers and the private sector.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela welcomed this news where once again our country will be at the forefront of initiatives for the health sector. He claimed that Malta supports the initiatives of the WHO in the field of digital health and explained how with the support of the WHO, our country is drawing up a Strategy for Digital Health which will be launched for public consultation later this year where it will establish a vision until 2030 in this area.
