It was a special half-day for 5,200 middle and secondary school students and 600 teachers who had the opportunity to visit the Public Service Expo24 being held at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali. They were able to follow closely the work of the public administration, including very interesting activities, and they even had the chance to take part in competitions specially designed for them.
There were around 500 students who came from Gozo. The rest came from different schools from every corner of Malta.
Whilst visiting the internal stands of departments and entities, many students expressed the wish that once they grow up, they would like to join the public administration and seek a career that gives them satisfaction. At the outside area, students were able to take part in physical activities including an obstacle course and sports, followed by a number of shows including those related to emergency rescue, and dog shows from different K9 units as well. Here, Sophie, the mascot of the Expo, a retired customs dog, stole the hearts of the students.
After visiting the Public Service Expo24, the students could not but leave with a smile on their faces as they were given items of commemoration and unique merchandise for the occasion.
Anyone who has not yet visited the Public Service Expo has the chance to do so within the next two days – Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th May from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Entrance to the public is free of charge and will be from MFCC North Entrance where there is a large space allocated to parking.
