A Palestinian gunman shot seven people dead near a synagogue on the outskirts of the city on Friday.
The massacre happened near a synagogue, Israeli police said.
Three others were injured in the shooting.
Police said the gunman fled in a car after opening fire and officers gave chase and after an exchange of fire killed him.
