Another milestone in aviation: Eurowings Europe Limited to start operating

Following the establishment of the new company in Malta earlier this year, Eurowings Europe Ltd. has now received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from the Malta Civil Aviation Directorate (CAD) within Transport Malta (TM).

This was announced by Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Aaron Farrugia, together with TM CEO Brigadier Jeffrey Curmi, CAD Director General Capt. Charles Pace, and Managing Director of Eurowings Europe Limited, Stefan Beveridge.

The first flight of Eurowings Europe Limited is scheduled for November 3rd, 2022.

Minister Farrugia said that he is proud to see that the new airline, Eurowings Europe Limited, is picking up speed, and that the aviation industry is thriving in Malta and Europe, even in the context of challenging times.

“The future seems bright for aviation in Malta as we are experiencing rapid growth and are expected to exceed 800 aircraft registered in our country by next year. Our various recent developments in this sector will have a significant impact on our economy and generate further jobs”, stated Minister Farrugia.

Eurowings Europe Ltd. Managing Director, Stefan Beveridge, said that they are delighted to have been granted an AOC for their new airline, Eurowings Europe Ltd. He added that this gives them a tailwind as they continue their pan-European growth.

“Our move to Malta will help us reduce complexity for our staff based at the various bases in Europe. In addition, Malta’s economic and regulatory framework will enable us to enter new markets as an attractive value airline and to compete successfully in our highly competitive environment. Above all, this means new perspectives for the entire Eurowings Europe team. We would like to expressly thank TM CAD and the Maltese authorities for their trust and support and look forward to working closely together in the future”, concluded Mr. Beveridge.
