Over 60’s offered second Covid-19 booster

On a joint recommendation of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the Health Authorities will extend the invitation to the second COVID booster. -19 to persons over 60 years of age.

The ECDC Advice notes the current variants of COVID-19, and the increase in cases worldwide, and was therefore advised to give a second booster to immunosuppressed persons and those with ‘over 60 years, especially when they were vaccinated more than 4 months ago. The same advice stresses that while clear benefits have been observed for these groups to receive a second booster, there is still no need for older people to turn to it. The Health Authorities appeal that the recipient of the invitation to the second booster, which will be sent by post, attend on the day and place indicated. In case of problems, one should call 145.

On a direction at European Union level, from 25 July 2022 passengers who are not in possession of a vaccine certificate or recovery certificate, will not be required to present a PCR or rapid negative test before entering our country. .
