It is reported that Pope Francis is to visit Malta during the first week of April fuelling speculation of a March General Election.
The Vatican had previously said it was policy that the Pope did not visit countries following elections.
That would account for the postponement of last December’s planned visit, when rumours of a November election were rife.
Now, with local media reporting a Papal visit in April, the prospect of General Election in March is growing, more so as the government has announced the Covid-19 measures will be eased from February.
