Boris Johnson is under fresh pressure as news emerges of another party at Downing Street.
A spokesperson admitted that a party had been held to mark his birthday.
No 10 said staff had “gathered briefly” to “wish the prime minister a happy birthday”, adding that he had been there “for less than 10 minutes”.
Sue Gray, a senior civil servant, is currently compiling a report into gatherings at No 10.
