Comfortable win for B’Kara as BOV Women’s League gets underway

The BOV Women’s League 2021/22 kicked-off this week with the first three matches.

Birkirkara found no difficulty in beating San Gwann 9-0 at the Mgarr Ground on Tuesday.

Veronique Mifsud opened the score on the 12th minute, Tracy Teuma scored on the 23rd and Alishia Sultana was quick to add another two goals on the 25th and 29th to put the Stripes four goals ahead. Raina Giusti made it 5-0 on the 35th and Veronique Mifsud added another on the 39th. In the second half, Birkirkara added another three goals thanks to Tracy Teuma on the 47th, Ruth Steer Chetham on the 69th and Charlene Zammit on the 71st.

At the Centenary Stadium, Francesca Chircop notched a hat-trick as Mgarr United defeated Kirkop United 4-0.

Rodiana Borg opened the score on the 4th and Chircop scored three on the 12th, 18th and 51st.

On Wednesday, Raiders Lija defeated Mtarfa 5-0.

Goals by Leah Alice Ayres on the 14th, Miriana Conti on the 31st and Maya Lucia on the 41st handed Raiders a three-goal lead in the first half with Michela Bonello Ghio increasing the lead on the 56th and Rebecca Vella sealing the issue with a fifth goal on the 86th.
