Two arrested in less than 24 hours after a robbery

Joint work between the Police from the Department of Major Crimes and Rapid Intervention led to the arrest of a couple after a 43-year-old man was robbed.

The robbery took place on Wednesday at around 11am in the Council of Europe Garden, Gzira. Investigations revealed that the victim was walking in the garden, when the couple, a 56-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man, approached him.

The couple stopped him, threatened him and robbed him.
After being informed by the Police, a search for the two people immediately began. About an hour later, police arrested the woman in Gzira. The search for the man continued and on Thursday morning, following information from a police constable

officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit arrested the male suspect in Gzira.

The pair are expected to appear in court today.
