Police pepper spray man caught smashing car windows

Police had to use pepper spray to subdue a man caught smashing car windows.

At half past eleven on Tuesday night police were informed that a man was smashing car windows in Cassarino Street in St Paul’s Bay.

Arriving at the scene, officers found a 25-year-old from Nigeria wielding an iron rod in one hand and an iron rod and a knife in the other.

As officers tried to arrest the man he turned aggressive and officers were forced to use pepper spray to subdue him. Two officers were injured in the incident.
