Community policing expands to 21 locations

'Minister for Home Affairs, National Security and Law Enforcement Bryon Camilleri launches community policing in new localities
Two years after the first pilot project, community police have now begun work in nine other locations. So now the police have ten police teams working with 56 dedicated officers every day in the heart of twenty-one towns and villages. In the coming days the citizens of the new localities will receive a leaflet at home with information and contact about their police.

 

Interior, National Security and Law Enforcement Minister Byron Camilleri explained that with the community police project, the Police Force is clearly showing a willingness to have a goal. -people at all times and in various circumstances, where he is not expecting the citizen to go to him only when a problem arises, but to be there to anticipate many difficulties and realities that happen on a daily basis. Therefore, with the community police project, the Police Force is now a point of reference. "The aim is for the citizen to feel safe, heard and served. This is a government that will make all the necessary investment in the police, "said Minister Camilleri, while reiterating his pride that the Police Force, which is once again increasing the sense of community in the cities and villages.
