England announces month-long lockdown

Prime Minister Boris Jonson has announced that England will go into a month-long lockdown from Thursday.

Among the the restrictions pubs and restaurants will have to close but take-aways can remain open.

Entertainment venues and non-essential shops close.

Stay at home, except for work and education.

Education: Schools, colleges and universities can remain open.

No house-hold mixing.

At a Downing Street press conference on Saturday night, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said there was “no alternative” to a second period of national lockdown restrictions.
