Hamrun shops shut for operating without licences

During Saturday Hamrun Police assisted by the Rapid Intervention Police conducted various inspections in Hamrun.

These inspections were conducted in Saint Joseph Road, Dun Nerik Cordina Perez Road, Qormi Road, Saint Paul’s Square and at Oreste Chircop Garden.

These inspections focused on shops and establishments’ permits where a number of establishments were actually found to be operating with an expired licence and were ordered to close their business until they regulate accordingly.

A number of fines were also issued to persons who were found smoking inside shops among other irregularities.

These inspections are set to continue in other localities in the coming days.
