Malta’s U/17 National Woman’s football team completed a memorable double headed friendly over Romania with a 3-2 win in their second game in three days.
Sarah Urpani opened the scoring for Malta and a double strike from Maria Farrugia gave Malta a deserved win against more fancied opponents.
Having held Romania to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, the Malta ladies ensured that they ended their friendlies on a high as they prepare for next month’s trip to Greece for their 2017 UEFA Women’s Under 17 European Championship Qualification.
Malta has been drawn in Group 2 and they will start their commitments against Greece on the 6th of October.
On the 11th of October, they will cross swords with Sweden while in their final encounter, they will face Montenegro on the 11th of October.
