Malta’s World Cup journey begins

Malta begin their 2018 World Cup campaign with a home tie against Scotland on Sunday.

Following an impressive 2-2 draw away to Estonia on Thursday, coach Pietro Ghedin is upbeat about Malta’s chances against Scotland.

As for Scotland, smarting from missing out on Euro 2016, manager Gordon Strachan will see this as an opportunity to get Scottish football back on track. He does have some injury worries to contend with, the latest being Rangers captain Lee Wallace who pulled out of Sunday’s match with a muscle strain.

With several other experienced players also out injured Gordon Strachan will be looking for new faces to make their mark.

The Malta Football Association will be laying on special bus services for Sunday’s game.

TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Malta Public Transport Limited for this match will be operating an additional Bus

Service to and from the National Stadium both before and after the match.

A Direct route will operate from Valletta to Ta’ Qali National Stadium from 5.15pm till 7.45pm every 30 minutes. to

At the end of the match, at around10.30pm,  buses will operate special routes according to demand.

From Ta’ Qali to Bugibba Terminus via Mosta and St. Paul’s Bay

From Ta’ Qali to St. Julian’s – Sliema – Valletta

These 2 special routes will operate between 10.45pm and 11pm
