Air Malta’s cabin crew have reached agreement with the government over pay and conditions according to a statement released on Tuesday evening.

The cabin crew salaries will be tied to productivity, something the union had been demanding.

The Cabin Crew Union president Noel Mercieca said that talks with Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis had been successful with the promise that the salaries of cabin crew would not be reduced and would be linked to the number of hours worked.

Air Malta and the government are currently locked in talks over the future of the airline with a business plan between Air Malta and Alitalia still being thrashed out.
