Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said that Air Malta’s cabin crew would be starting industrial action as from midnight on Saturday.

The minister said that a meeting with the cabin crews union, UCC, had broken up abruptly when union representatives walked out of a meeting.

The union are in a dispute over working conditions despite assurances from Minister Zammit Lewis that cabin crew working conditions would be safeguarded.

Air Malta and it’s pilots have just settled a dispute over working conditions, with the pilots reportedly demanding a 50,000 euro a year pay rise, something which the airline simply could not meet and survive.
