Charlotte Wingfield won her women’s 100m preliminary race at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Friday afternoon, her time of 11.86 seconds just outside her national record of 11.69 that she set during the European Games in Baku last year.
Lining up in the third heat, the 21-year-old dashed home in 11.86 seconds to book her place in the first round which will be held early tomorrow morning.
