Office of Prime Minister publishes terms of reference of inquiry into drugs theft from AFM

The Office of the Prime Minister is publishing the Terms of Reference of an Administrative Inquiry appointed by the Prime Minister to establish the facts and circumstances leading to the theft of cannabis resin stored at the Armed Forces of Malta Barracks in Safi, on the night of 22nd and 23rd February, 2025.
This inquiry, which is independent of criminal investigations and or other legal proceedings such as the Magisterial Inquiry, will be led by Judge Emeritus Geoffrey Valenzia. The inquiry, with the Terms of Reference as published, shall be completed by 14th March 2025, without prejudice to the proper execution of the Terms of Reference.
The Prime Minister requested direction from Judge Valenzia regarding the publication of the inquiry with the aim of safeguarding the integrity of National Security and the judicial process.
