A new collective agreement has been signed between the Foundation for Medical Services (FMS) and the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin (UĦM), which will lead to substantial benefits for employees working with the FMS.
A number of employees from various departments including architects, project managers, document controllers, quantity surveyors, IT personnel, procurement personnel, as well as draughts persons will benefit from this agreement. Through this agreement, workers will be seeing an increase in wages, as well as being given opportunities to advance in their respective careers.
The Minister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela said that for the first time this agreement will see all workers within this foundation participating in this agreement which will translate into better conditions and quality of life for employees. “This continues with the work that the Ministry has been carrying out in recent months, which is to continue investing not only in infrastructure and crew, but also in human resources that will help us continue to improve the service in the health sector,” concluded Minister Abela.
Expressing gratitude for the successful negotiations, FMS CEO Dr Robert Xuereb commended the collaborative effort between the People and Standards Division, the UĦM and the Ministry. He said that this agreement reflects a collective dedication to fostering a better working environment. He added that this collective agreement is a testament to the FMS’s continued commitment to not only improving the health infrastructure in Malta but also ensuring the well-being of its employees.
